At
5-foot, 2-inches tall, Jean is in the petite height range. Her figure
is an hour-glass type, being as wide in the shoulder as hips, with a narrow
& defined waist. You wouldn't know it to look at the clothes she wore
before though...Jean was hiding!
How
did Jean enhance her natural beauty to look thinner, younger and taller?
- A
shorter jacket gives Jean the appearance of better balance and longer
legs.
- When
a jacket ends where the hip is widest, it adds focus to hip width. With
a hem that sits at the right height, Jean's hips look more narrow.
-
A soft and unstructured jacket fabric made Jean look larger in the middle.
Her new jacket has structure, a tapered waist and angled pockets
that accentuate her own waistline.
- Wider
lapels will draw the eye outward toward Jean's shoulders, enhancing
her "X" shape, framing the v-neck top and Jean's lovely
face.
- The
putty color of the old jacket washed out Jean's skin color, making it look
sallow and older. The soft turquoise from Jean's Style Profile color palettes
brightens and clarifies the look of Jean's skin and brings out the vibrant
colors in her eyes. Jean looks younger and refreshed.
- The v-neck is an
ideal neck type for Jean and makes her neck look long and
elegant. That v-neck also helps to place central
focus on the body vertically, making Jean look taller and more streamlined,
as does the bright contrast between her jacket and top.
- The
matching turquoise jewelry accessories strengthen the aspects of color
and line in the "after" picture.
- By
going to a darker-colored, narrow shaped skirt with a waistline that
sits on the waist (not lower) and, by tucking in her top, Jean has slimmed
and given feminine shape to her hips, while adding visual length to
her legs.
- Very
subtle make-up and soft highlights in her hair bring out the warmth
in her skin and eyes.
- A
new side part in Jean's hair, brings focus to the "masculine side"
of her softer-featured face. Doing this helps to give Jean's face a
more defined look.
Is
this a make-over or just a natural make-better? You decide. This is the same lovely
woman in both pictures, but now Jean understands that looking really great
is easy... when you've got a little stylish advice! |
